Milwaukee will have 25 regular-season games on national television this season (10 on TNT, 10 on ESPN and five on ABC), including a Christmas Day matchup against the Boston Celtics at 1:30 p.m. And the mini-series are back as well, highlighted by two home games against the Mavericks in a row in November. The Clippers will only visit Oklahoma City and San Antonio once while hosting the Rockets and Jazz only once three of those teams have low expectations, so that gives the Clippers fewer games against those types of teams.

There's other minutiae, such as the 15 national TV games (none on ABC, only six on ESPN, and nine on TNT) and 16 games that will be played with at least two days of rest to balance out the 14 sets of back-to-backs. The Clippers also don't play a road game in the East until December 29 at Boston. That stretch in January is what makes the two separate six-game home stands that begin in November that much more important. And after another matinee on MLK Day against the Pacers, the Clippers won't see the Staples Center again for the rest of the month, embarking on an 8-game road trip that features two more back-to-backs. The following weekend will see the Clippers play a Staples Center back-to-back matinee against the Grizzlies and Hawks (welcome back, Lou Williams!). The Clippers will join the Bulls and Spurs as the teams that will play road games on both New Year's Eve and New Year's Day. There are a lot of takeaways from the Clippers schedule, but let's just begin by saying that January is going to be tough. Or, if all of the above bored you to tears, you could watch a nifty little video the Blazers social media team put together for this season’s schedule release. Portland has two such mini-series on the road this season, one in Minnesota on March 5 and 7 and one in San Antonio on April 1 and 3.

In that March homestand, the Blazers host the Rockets on March 25 and 26. That second five-game homestand includes a quirk that the NBA has kept for a second consecutive season: mini-series. 4-12, which includes visits from the NBA-champion Bucks on Feb. The Blazers have 14 back-to-backs this season, in addition to two five-game road trips (March 14-21, April 1-8) and two five-game homestands (Feb. Thankfully, none of the games during that trip are back-to-back games. The Blazers have a massive six-game road trip, their longest of the season, starting in Denver on Jan. In total, the Blazers are on national TV 16 times: five on TNT, four on ESPN and seven on NBATV. the Grizzlies) are on national TV, with the game against Memphis on ESPN. the Western Conference champion Suns, at the Clippers, home vs. They open at home against the Sacramento Kings on Wednesday, Oct. Some teams, such as the Bucks and Blazers have three mini-series each. Luckily, the Nets only have 12 back-to-backs this season, and they don’t have any mini-series where they play the same team in the same city back-to-back.

In the final 41 games, the Nets don’t have a homestand longer than three games but have a four-game and a five-game trip that will make for nine of 11 games on the road from Jan. The six-game homestand and the six-game road trip in the season’s first 41 games represent their longest home and away stints of the season. And, also lopsided.Īfter starting the season with two on the road, they’re home for a six-game homestand … then on the road for six, home for three, on the road for two … then home for four, on the road for four, home for five and finally on the road for three, which includes Christmas in LA. So, let’s hope the Big Three are healthy, because the Nets early schedule is kind of, for the lack of a better term, chunky. Even if they’re not, and they have two of the three playing, or only KD lighting up opponents, they still should be a blast to watch. If the Nets are healthy this season, they’ll be must-see TV. 19, on Christmas against the Lakers in Los Angeles and a five-game stretch from March 16-26 where they’re either on ESPN (twice) or NBATV (three).

While it may not be a world tour, per se, (OK, they do go to Toronto twice) one thing’s for certain: America will get to see the Nets.įeaturing the formidable trio of Kevin Durant, Kyrie Irving, and for a full season, James Harden, the Nets’ potentially historic offense will be on national TV a whopping 38 times, including on opening night in Milwaukee on Oct. This season, the Brooklyn Nets have dubbed their schedule release: “Nets World Tour.” (It would be cool if they put that on a T-shirt with the schedule on the back, but I digress…)
